On our cruise a few weeks ago, the ship offered a cupcake decorating class. Since my sister-in-law and I love baking, we knew we had to sign up. Our class made puppy cupcakes, which was surprisingly easier than I thought. There is also quite a bit of frosting that is used on each cupcake, so if you are like me and you don’t like gigantic amounts of frosting, I’m sure you can find someone to help you eat them.

{The cupcake base was made out of chocolate mix, and vanilla cupcakes were used for the puppy’s head}

{Cut the vanilla cupcake in half from top to bottom. Next, lay one of the halves on its side and cut into a triangle.}

{Using a pastry bag or Ziploc, add lines of icing. This should look similar to a sunflower.}

{Place the vanilla triangle on top of the chocolate cupcake and add dots to line all sides of the triangle}

{In a zig-zag motion, add icing to cover the vanilla triangle}

{Various candies used to create the face}

{Add the candies to create the face. A toothpick makes it easy to add the eyebrows.}

{Add the remaining candies to create the mouth, and this is the puppy creation!}

Ohhh Those cupcakes look so yummy!
